The first of March is here
and in order to accelerate progress with this website and, well, my whole life, changes need to happen!
As such, I’m trying to get up at the same time every single day — weekends included. It doesn’t really matter when I get up, unless I need to be somewhere at a particular time. For now, I’ve decided on 8 o’clock in the morning. So far, so good. This makes a 9 o’clock start somewhere perfectly feasible — I’d just need to get up an hour earlier — and I won’t be drifting off to sleep in the early hours of the evening, which I hate. The more sleep, the merrier!
But what about ACNH?
Back before there were any pre-order bonuses announced, I had ordered a copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons from Amazon. I had a £5 discount and needed to use it on something. I refuse to let go of this discount, so no microfibre cloth for me! It sucks when you order too early for a pre-order bonus. The price has also dropped by £5 since I placed my order, and Amazon doesn’t appear to be applying their Pre-order Price Guarantee, so maybe I’ll lose out, regardless. Support wasn’t particularly helpful.
The point is, I have placed a second Amazon order since then. “What ever for?” you might ask. For the official companion guide, of course! This was initially priced at £24.99 but was dropped to £22.36, so I decided to go for it, with the understanding that I can always change my mind and cancel. With the fact it releases a couple weeks after the game does, I might just do so, as I’m only really in it for the ACNH info, which I can surely just steal from websites such as ACNH Info. Oh. Hang on a moment!
23 March update
I have since cancelled my order of the companion guide. I could not have predicted the impact COVID-19 would have on the world, and this just doesn’t feel like the best time to be ordering books. Datamining efforts are coming along nicely, so I’m not convinced I’d learn all that much from the book, anyway.
When my copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons was delivered, I received a £5 refund. Looks like the Pre-Order Price Guarantee held up in the end.
New billboard day
As a little bonus for checking out this post, have this video I made near the end of 2018. After all, today is the first of the month. I haven’t publicly posted this video online before. I did upload it to YouTube with the intention of making it public at some point, but never did. It received a copyright claim, but I disputed it with nothing more than “it’s a meme”, which was surprisingly good enough for FOX.
I was just so hyped about a new Animal Crossing game coming in 2019 that I made a few memey things. I might dribble the other bits and bobs out, leading up to the game's release, but this one's my favourite.
